For real. I love winter, but this winter has been brutal! I'm sure that most of Southern Ontario has had more snow than ever this winter... In early February, I saw some statistics about snowfall in the GTA - there had already been 147cm of snow a month ago! I guess on the up-side, I can say that I have truly learned how to drive in snow/winter.
This weekend was exciting (and sooo long ago). I finally got the last bit of Christmas present from Matty! A bobbin/lazy kate extension kit for my spinning wheel! So I finished up the spinning I started forever and ever ago. My finest yarn yet - it seems to vary between fingering and worsted. Except for the places where it went all "novelty" on me.
It's a wee tiny picture, but the green yarn I used for ties is Knitpicks Gloss.
I also spent some time with Nikki, and made a scarf-hood. Imagine a rectangle, folded in half to make a hood. Yup. Wearing it on Saturday made me understand why the scarf-hood is not a widely seen accessory. Not only does it smack you in the face, but it can choke you too! So impressive.
The sparkly sweater is still coming along... I did a whole bunch of crazy math and thought I was ready to start the yoke. Then I realized that the underarm seam would be 3 inches too low. More knitting to do....
