Woooo Socks!

I finished my first pair of socks since September last night! Simple Trekking Socks, in colourway 110. I LOVE them, and so wish they were for me, but they're not. There was nothing overly difficult or interesting about the pattern. I have to say though, that the few rows of alternate rib were a really nice change. I got very tired of counting rows...
Without further ado, some pictures.

So, I think I've got some Trekking love going on. These may be some of my favourite socks so far! Enough that I ordered one ball of Trekking 100 as a little Christmas present to myself.

When I didn't think I could bear to do another inch of k2p2, I started a pair of Monkey socks from the new knitty.

They look so pretty, but I think I'll be ripping them out. Sock Candy is strange. It knits up nicely, but is not very stretchy at all. So I'll need to do some thinking about what to do instead... I can't even get the sock past my heel without a huge struggle. I'm thinking I might stick with the original plan of RPM, but who knows. Maybe plain ribbing would be best? Bah. I need a pattern with lots of stretch and elasticity.

And in other, non-knitterly news, I joined Runagogo in order to move 100 miles by April 1. I'm thinking it will mostly be walking, but I could surprise myself and bust out the running shoes... Yay for moving!

Nice Trekking socks there! Thanks for the information on sock candy, I just got 2 skeins of it! Good luck finding a pattern you like!
