socks!

I finished my jaywalkers! I'm very happy, my first completed socks ever!

There were a few important things that I learned from these socks.

  • I learned to turn a heel. Not so hard, but useful.

  • I got to practice my kitchener stitch. Again, not too hard, but annoying.

  • I learned the importance of matching pairs that match....

Ha ha, there's got to be an inch difference between the two socks... Strangely enough, I'm pretty sure I have less yarn left from the shorter sock.
So, Jaywalkers, Lorna's Laces Black Purl shepherd sock. Finished!
I wonder if i have enough yarn left to make Lolita toes. I know they use Fixation, but I'd really like to use what's left for something I'll use....

Wow what a pretty color - your Jaywalkers look fabulous! I still haven't finished my Jaywalkers (but am still hard at work on them). One of the funnest parts for me is getting to kitchener the toe!

A great pattern to try if you don't like to graft the toe is Nancy Bush's cable and rib socks from Fall Interweave Knits - very easy heel and toe and the cable pattern turns out really pretty!

You will get to enjoy the kitchener stitch.I find chanting the knit-purl-purl knit song from the knitty.com site helps get me in the mindset.Great work on the socks!

They look great! Congrats! I wouldn't count on making the other socks though, you'd be surprized at how little yarn you have left, especially after Jaywalkers - they take up a lot!

I suggest combinding it with something else - at least one full ball. Go check out Len's!!

Nice socks! I hated grafting at first. I had to look it up in my book every time I had to do it at first. Now I can do it without the aid of my book, but in my head I still have to keep saying, "Up through the back, down through the front, up through the back..."
